Hustler Words – Beeper, the unified messaging application designed to consolidate all your chat platforms into a single interface, is launching a revamped version emphasizing enhanced security and premium features. The update shifts away from relying on Beeper’s cloud services, offering users a more private experience.
Under the ownership of Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, which acquired Beeper for $125 million in 2024, the application has undergone near-complete integration with Texts.com, another Automattic acquisition from the previous year valued at $50 million.

The combined 30-person team, now operating under the Beeper banner, supports a wide array of messaging services, including WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, X, Telegram, Signal, Matrix, Slack, Google Chat, Discord, LinkedIn, and Google Messages (SMS/RCS). For Mac users, Beeper also offers connectivity to iMessage, although Apple has previously restricted this functionality.

Automattic’s core objective is to simplify the management of multiple messaging applications while prioritizing user security.
According to Beeper CEO Kishan Bagaria, the application initially connected to Beeper Cloud before interacting with the messaging network. While this system remains the default, users can now opt for "Beeper on device," which establishes a direct connection to the messaging network, bypassing the intermediary.
"That ensures that end-to-end encryption is preserved and your privacy is as good as the official app," Bagaria stated in an interview with hustlerwords.com prior to the relaunch. The reception from the messaging platform providers remains uncertain.
"We have good relationships with some of these companies, and some of them are OK with this," Bagaria noted. "Others, we have not really heard from much."
To mitigate potential disruptions from messaging network providers, Beeper aims to align with the business models of the original applications whenever feasible. For instance, if Telegram displays advertisements, those ads will also appear within Beeper.
Furthermore, EU regulations mandating interoperability among messaging platforms could encourage messaging app providers to accommodate solutions like Beeper’s.
The relaunch introduces a premium subscription tier, Beeper Plus, priced at $9.99 per month. This plan expands the number of connectable messaging services from five to ten and unlocks features such as scheduled message sending, chat reminders, incognito message reading, multiple accounts per network, AI-powered voice note transcriptions (processed through OpenAI’s Whisper model with user consent), and custom app icons.
A higher-tier subscription, Beeper Plus Plus, starts at $49.99 per month and provides unlimited account access, catering to the needs of businesses and social media managers. Annual subscriptions are available at discounted rates of $99.99 for Beeper Plus and $499 for Beeper Plus Plus.
Following Automattic’s acquisition of Beeper, the company merged its team with Texts.com to create a product that combined the best aspects of both services. With the relaunch, the applications are now 99% integrated, according to Bagaria, with only a few minor features remaining to be ported.
Automattic’s recent acquisition, the personal CRM Clay, which may be rebranded later, will eventually be integrated with Beeper, though it will remain a standalone application.
"It will mostly be built on top of the Beeper platform – it’ll stay complimentary," Bagaria explained. "Clay is an amazing app [as it] works today. Then, with Beeper, it can just ingest more interactions and data, which will make it like 2x to 10x better. Once that is done, I’m sure Clay can be a very powerful product."
Beeper currently boasts millions of registered users, including those from Texts.com. A subset of Texts.com users are now being offered the option to migrate to Beeper, due to the addition of the on-device technology, which they prefer.
Bagaria acknowledged that some reliability issues may arise during the transition to the on-device model, but these are being addressed as edge cases emerge. Beeper Cloud will eventually be phased out once the company is confident that the on-device model can serve as a reliable daily driver for all users.
Looking ahead, Beeper intends to make its data accessible to other companies, subject to user permission and privacy controls. For example, a Beeper-powered model context protocol (MCP) could allow users to connect to chat applications via Claude or ChatGPT to perform tasks such as summarizing important messages from the evening.
These developments will require time, as Bagaria emphasizes his commitment to privacy and the need for a transparent solution that grants users control over data access.
"We also don’t want to have server farms where we have models trained on your data. That’s a complete no-no," he concluded.
