Andreessen's DEI Warning: Universities Will "Pay the Price"

Hustler Words – Venture capitalist Marc Andreessen has reportedly ignited controversy with scathing remarks directed at prominent universities and institutions, including Stanford, MIT, and the National Science Foundation. Screenshots obtained by the Washington Post reveal Andreessen’s criticisms, delivered within a group chat involving AI scientists and former Trump administration figures.

Andreessen allegedly characterized MIT and Stanford, his alma mater from two decades prior, as "mainly political lobbying operations fighting American innovation," according to the Post. The venture capitalist also expressed displeasure with Stanford’s treatment of his wife, claiming her removal as chair of the Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society would cost the university "something like $5 billion in future donations."

In a separate message, Andreessen reportedly warned that universities have "declared war on 70% of the country and now they’re going to pay the price," focusing his ire on "DEI and immigration," which he purportedly labeled as "two forms of discrimination" that are "politically lethal."

Andreessen’s comments come after he and Andreessen Horowitz co-founder Ben Horowitz publicly endorsed Donald Trump’s bid for a return to the White House last year. Several of Andreessen’s associates have since assumed roles within the Trump administration.

Hustlerwords.com has reached out to a16z for comment on the matter. Separately, Sequoia Capital has yet to respond to queries following partner Shaun Maguire’s controversial remarks about Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic mayoral nominee for New York City, whom Maguire described as an "Islamist" from a culture that "lies about everything."
