Hustler Words – Las Vegas’s Sphere, the colossal entertainment venue, is set to immerse audiences in a reimagined "The Wizard of Oz" beginning August 28th. This isn’t your grandmother’s movie night; Sphere Entertainment CEO James Dolan revealed a team of 2,000 is leveraging artificial intelligence to create a truly expansive cinematic experience.
Forget a simple projection. The team is upscaling the film’s resolution and employing "outpainting" techniques to extend the visual narrative beyond the original frame. As Turner Classic Movie presenter Ben Mankiewicz explained, AI transforms grainy close-ups into richly detailed scenes, magically revealing the Scarecrow, the Yellow Brick Road, and the breathtaking landscapes of Oz in their entirety.

The AI even generates new perspectives and performances from the original cast, seamlessly integrated into the enhanced visuals. Dolan emphasized that these augmentations are designed to enhance, not alter, the film’s core essence. The goal is to transport viewers directly onto the set, offering a unique and immersive encounter with a timeless classic.
