Badger, a former pharmaceutical sales rep and trainer, experienced firsthand the shortcomings of traditional training methods, leading him to believe that a more effective approach could significantly improve patient access to crucial therapies.

PraxisPro, which officially launched in 2023 with its first product arriving in 2025, announced a $6 million seed funding round led by AlleyCorp. FlyBridge, South Loop Ventures, and Zeal Capital Partners also participated in the round. The platform aims to address the critical need for well-trained and compliant sales representatives in life science companies, including pharmaceutical businesses and medical device startups.

According to Badger, who serves as CEO, ineffective interactions between commercial teams and healthcare providers can hinder patients from receiving potentially life-changing treatments. PraxisPro seeks to bridge this gap by providing a standalone platform, integrable with enterprise software, that leverages small language models trained on life science data. This allows the platform to understand the specific nuances and contexts required for effective communication with healthcare professionals.

At the heart of PraxisPro is an AI agent designed to help commercial sales teams hone their communication skills through practice and preparation. Badger emphasizes the importance of communication in medical sales, particularly in navigating compliance regulations. The platform not only trains sales reps to adhere to legal frameworks but also equips them to effectively communicate patient needs to healthcare providers.

The conversational AI feature allows sales representatives to simulate and plan for the typical 15 interactions they might have with a healthcare provider during the sales process. This includes anticipating potential pushback and developing strategies to address it effectively.

While other AI role-playing tools exist, such as Quantified and SmartWinnr, PraxisPro differentiates itself by focusing specifically on the life sciences sector and utilizing smaller, more targeted data sets. The newly acquired capital will be directed towards further research and development efforts.

Badger envisions PraxisPro as the tool he wished he had during his early days as a sales rep, when he struggled and nearly lost his job. Having overcome those challenges to become a top performer, he is now committed to empowering others in the field.
