Shop Your Camera Roll: Daydream's AI Magic!

Hustler Words – Fashion discovery application Daydream has unveiled two groundbreaking features, leveraging Apple Intelligence to transform how iPhone users interact with their saved outfit photos and conduct clothing searches. These innovations, launched on Monday, allow users to instantly convert images from their camera roll into shoppable results and access Daydream’s extensive catalog through Siri, all without opening the app.

These new functionalities are powered by Apple’s recently released iOS 27 developer tools. To utilize them, users will need an iPhone running iOS 27 with Siri AI enabled, alongside the Daydream app, which is available for free download on iOS devices.

One of the standout capabilities harnesses Apple’s advanced image-context processing. This allows Daydream to analyze outfits within images already stored in a user’s Photos app. The AI meticulously dissects the attire, identifying individual garments and accessories. It then automatically presents shoppable matches and comparable styles drawn from Daydream’s vast catalog, which boasts approximately 3 million products. This means a screenshot of a coveted look from Instagram or Pinterest can now serve as the direct springboard for a shopping expedition. Daydream can break down complex images into distinct items like sweaters, pants, or shoes, linking them to available products. Should the exact item be out of stock, the application intelligently suggests similar alternatives. The system is also sophisticated enough to handle nuanced requests, such as "I like this sweater but want it in red," as Julie Bornstein, co-founder and CEO of Daydream, elaborated to Hustler Words.

The second significant addition is a Siri-integrated natural-language search function. This enables users to vocalize or type their fashion queries directly through Siri, eliminating the need to launch the Daydream app. For instance, a user could simply command, "Hey, Siri, search Daydream for a cool blazer for my board meeting on Monday," and receive personalized results.

Bornstein further notes that the shopping experience becomes even more tailored when users configure Daydream’s "Style Passport." This feature gathers essential details such as preferred sizes, brands, personal aesthetic, and budget, allowing the AI to refine its recommendations with greater precision.

Daydream enters a competitive landscape populated by a growing number of AI-driven shopping platforms, including industry giants like Google and Amazon, as well as emerging players such as Onton and Alta. However, Bornstein asserts that Daydream’s latest enhancements possess a unique edge that many competitors struggle to replicate. "Most visual search tools lack the specialized fashion category expertise, leading to inaccurate results, dubious brands, or links to non-shoppable images," she explained.

This strategic launch aligns with Daydream’s overarching commitment to AI-powered fashion retail. The company views these new features not merely as standalone tools but as foundational steps toward a more ambitious goal: developing a comprehensive shopping agent. "This is a progression toward a grander vision—a shopping agent capable of understanding an individual’s style deeply enough to operate across every facet of their life, not confined to a single interface," Bornstein stated. "Anticipate our continued investment in on-device intelligence and deeper integration into the everyday moments where people naturally discover items they desire."

Since its launch last year, Daydream has attracted over 1.5 million shoppers, offering products from more than 325 retailers and 10,000 brands. Its impressive roster of retail partners includes prominent names like Anthropologie, Dolce & Gabbana, Uniqlo, J.Crew, Reformation, Gucci, and Nordstrom.
