Arcee, a lean U.S. startup comprising just 26 individuals, has unveiled its latest reasoning model, dubbed Trinity Large Thinking. This release follows their impressive feat of developing a 400-billion-parameter open-source large language model (LLM) with a remarkably modest $20 million investment. Mark McQuade, Arcee’s CEO, asserted to Hustler Words that Trinity represents the most capable open-weight model ever launched by a non-Chinese entity.
This ambitious declaration underscores Arcee’s strategic objective: to equip American and Western enterprises with a robust AI alternative, thereby mitigating the perceived necessity of relying on models originating from China.
