Beyond Cursor, GitHub faces competition from tech giants like Google, which acquired AI coding startup Windsurf, and AI innovators like Cognition, the creator of Devin. OpenAI and Anthropic are also developing their own AI coding solutions, powered by Codex and Claude Code respectively.
