Hustler Words – Industry titan Bob Iger is making a swift return to the venture capital arena, rejoining Thrive Capital as an advisor just a month after concluding his lengthy and impactful tenure as CEO of The Walt Disney Company. This move marks a significant pivot for the former media executive, signaling his continued engagement with the cutting edge of technology and innovation.
Iger’s association with Thrive isn’t entirely new; he previously served a brief two-month period as a venture partner with the firm in late 2022. That initial engagement was cut short when Disney’s board requested his return to lead the entertainment conglomerate, following his initial departure in 2020. His renewed involvement underscores a deep-seated connection with the investment powerhouse.

Josh Kushner, founder of Thrive Capital, expressed his enthusiasm for Iger’s return on the social media platform X, stating, "Bob leads with boldness and conviction because he knows what he is building and why. He is rejoining Thrive at a time when that kind of leadership matters most." Iger, who already holds an ownership stake in the firm, will collaborate closely with Thrive’s investment teams and the founders within its diverse portfolio, according to reports from The Wall Street Journal. His advisory capacity is expected to be a strategic, rather than full-time, commitment.
