Hustler Words – Digital artist Mike Winkelmann, better known as Beeple, is once again making waves in the art world with his provocative "Regular Animals" installation at Art Basel Miami Beach. This time, he’s unleashed a pack of $100,000 robotic dogs, each sporting eerily realistic heads of tech titans like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos, alongside art world icons Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol.
These mechanical canines aren’t just for show. Confined to a plexiglass pen, they roam and capture images with chest-mounted cameras. The data is then processed by AI, resulting in prints that, according to the Wall Street Journal, are metaphorically "pooped out." Adding another layer of intrigue, 256 of these prints contain QR codes, granting lucky collectors a free NFT, presented in bags humorously labeled "Excrement Sample."

In a move that he himself describes as "ballsy," Beeple included a robotic dog self-portrait in the mix. Surprisingly, his own likeness was the first to be snatched up by a collector, even catching the artist off guard.

This project is not Beeple’s first foray into headline-grabbing art. Back in 2021, his digital collage sold at Christie’s for a staggering $69 million, playing a significant role in the NFT frenzy that gripped the world before its eventual downturn. With "Regular Animals," Beeple continues to push boundaries and spark conversation about art, technology, and the cult of personality.
