Hustler Words – Google’s Gemini AI is making its way to Wear OS smartwatches, expanding its reach beyond smartphones and tablets. This rollout, initially teased in May, is finally happening, bringing the power of Gemini to devices from Pixel, Samsung, OPPO, OnePlus, and Xiaomi running Wear OS 4+. The integration is part of Google’s broader strategy to replace Google Assistant with Gemini across its entire product ecosystem.
Users can activate Gemini on their watches by saying "Hey Google," pressing and holding the side button, or tapping the Gemini app icon. The AI assistant allows for hands-free querying, perfect for situations like cooking ("For how long should I roast sliced vegetables, and at what temperature?") or checking the weather ("Do I need an umbrella today?"). Gemini also facilitates cross-app task completion, such as summarizing emails or adding calendar entries. Users can even leverage Gemini’s memory capabilities for reminders and important details, like parking location.
Beyond smartwatches, Google is enhancing its Circle to Search feature with AI Mode integration. Launched last year, Circle to Search lets users initiate searches by circling, highlighting, or tapping on-screen content. Now, the AI Mode’s advanced reasoning capabilities will power these searches, allowing for complex queries and follow-up questions without leaving the current app. An "AI Overview" will appear in search results, offering a summary and a "dive deeper" option for more in-depth exploration via AI Mode.
